The KathyRinaldiHope Foundation was incorporated in 1996, by Skadden Arps Meagher & Flom by Mary Ratzenberger. They generously represented us and created our 501c3 organization.
At first we were first an organization that combatted abuse/violence, but as it grew and many affluent individuals expressed their interest, we became so much more. Not only do we combat abuse, we also take on societal issues like #STOPGunSchoolViolence, and look to the future health of our kids by working with organizations like The March of Dimes' March For Babies.
A few few people who were generous to us were people like Celine Dion and the late Rene Angelia. After speaking to Denise Miller Jonas, we soon learned that juvenile diabetes needs our help. Essentially, we realize that child illnesses must be addressed and supported.
These lovely people shared their concerns and in doing so inspired us to become what we are today.,,we celebrate kids and ensure they live happier and healthier lives..
Again, we combat abuse/violence and look to the future health of our children. We support many like minded organizations such as The March of Dimes and have joined the fight to cure Cystic Fibrosis, and Juvenile Diabetes. In a word, we ensure that all children live the lives they've imagined and with proper education, 'may they go confidently in the direction of their dreams and live the lives they imagine.'
We welcome many such heroes and introduce them as Honorary Friends of KathyRinldiHope.
When 1214 happened, we knew the exact pain SandyHook/Newtown was feeling having survived from violence as well. Although not the evil the world saw on 1214 2012, evil enough. Without hesitation we were "rubber necking" in Newtown. We put ourselves aside and were what Newtown needed us to be. We took care of the memorials. We shoveled the walkways so no one would be hurt further. We befriended a town hero and safely took a broken man home- this man in particular had become my favorite person of 2012. During a funeral of a fallen boy who dreamed of Fire and Rescue, he stood tall among hundreds of Fireman. But later, when visiting the cemetery as a father, this man shattered.
AND THEN IT HIT.
We went to Newtown to build a center and to use my 15 years of experience to expedite its build. From myself, to a first respondent fireman/dad and seeing the outcry from all over the world, I realized that we all hurt, we all were in pain, and all our lives would never be the same again. We came to build a center, we will also took to establish annual scholarship funds in each fallen child's name, and to remember and support the first responders.
This is what the world should be. Although there is pain and suffering, there are those that are humane. Together we will over-come, together we will survive, and together we can move forward.
Where one man can fracture a society, another can help it to heal.
